AUTHENTIC ORIGINAL GERMAN THIRD REICH WAR II OFFICER’S SWORD Solingen

Third Reich Officer's sword with a 34 in. blade, 39 in. overall, made by Alcoso, Solingen. The maker mark for Alcoso Solingen is seen on the reverse of the blade near the grip. The fine black grip still retains its original tight wire wrapping, although on the sixth row of wire a small section has snapped off. The grip also features a copper German National eagle at the center. The silver knuckle guard which ends in the usual teardrop quillon displays some heavy tarnish. The blade itself shows several spots of oxidation. Also present is the scabbard, retaining nearly all of its original black paint. No apparent dents or dings. Overall, a very good example.
